Athletes participate in the event at their own risk! The liability of the organiser’s is restricted to intent and gross negligence, also toward third parties. The organiser’s are not liable for damage other than damage to life or health, as long as it has not occurred due to intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty on the part of the organiser, the legal representative or the assistants. By receiving the starting number, the participants bindingly declare that there are no physical constraints which impede them from taking part in the race. Directions of the organisational staff must be observed at all times.

German Cycling Cup regulations

In addition, the regulations of the German Cycling Cup apply for the 70 km and the 140 km bicycle races.

Requirements: licence/age/club

70 km and 140 km bicycle race

The following people are admitted for the 70 km and the 140 km everyman race:

  • Cyclists at an age of 14 and above. The first day of the event is the reference date for the age.
  • Hobby and leisure cyclists without a licence or ticket
  • Bicycle tour riders with or without ticket
  • Racing cyclists with a senior’s/master’s licence (only C-licence and below)
  • Amateur racing cyclists with a C-licence or below or a corresponding foreign class

Licensed cyclists who are rated above C-class may participate for marketing purposes. However, their results will be assessed separately. Their positions will not be included in the overall results of the everyman race.

Membership in a club is not mandatory.

Nordschleifen tour/RTF bicycle marathon

Attention: The RTF bicycle marathon is cancelled for 2010!

There are no additional basic admission restrictions for these disciplines. Participants who want their results to be documented on their BDR ticket need to bring this along with them.

There are no general age restrictions. However, it is required that the participants have complete control of their bicycle at all times. This applies specifically to ascents and descents and to avoiding dangerous situations. Parents are liable for their children's actions.

24h race

There are no restrictions with respect to licences or clubs etc. The participants merely need to meet the requirements with respect to their physical fitness and their control of their bicycle. If necessary, experts may need to be consulted.

The minimum age for participants is 18. The first day of the Rad am Ring event is the reference date for the age. Participants who have just turned 18 will be included in the AK men/women group.

When falling or when the bike breaks down, as well as when participants have physical ailments, help by other people is expressly permitted. Only the organiser’s accompanying vehicles are permitted. When participants are taken to the finish in an accompanying vehicle, they will be penalised in the 24 h race (more detailed information at the team briefing), in the everyman race, they will be disqualified.
